What is it?
How does a polygraph work?
A polygraph records physiological reactions of the body that may occur during emotional tension or stress. The device does not detect “lies” directly — it only records changes in indicators that are later analyzed by the polygraph examiner.

Procedure
How does testing work?
Polygraph testing is primarily a structured conversation with a polygraph examiner. All questions are agreed upon in advance, so there are no unexpected topics during the procedure.

Result
What determines the success of the examination?
The result of the testing primarily depends on the level of honesty in the answers and the absence of concealment of significant information.
Nervousness
Feeling nervous during the procedure is a natural reaction. The polygraph takes this into account and distinguishes normal emotional responses from significant reactions.
Attempts at Self-Control
Excessive attempts to “calm down,” blocking thoughts, or emotional detachment may affect the indicators and distort the results. In such cases, the test may be considered invalid due to interference with the procedure.
Attempts to Influence the Indicators
Any intentional actions aimed at changing physiological reactions are considered interference with the testing process. In this case, the result is considered unreliable regardless of the answers provided.
Preparation Before the Visit
Follow these simple rules — they will help ensure an accurate result.
No Alcohol or Substances
Do not consume alcohol in any amount, narcotic substances, or psychotropic substances.
Rest and Sleep
Get a good night’s sleep. On the day of testing, avoid sedatives and depressants unless prescribed by a doctor.
No Coffee
Do not drink coffee, except in cases of caffeine dependence.

Before the Interview
What You Need to Know
Documents, consent, video recording, and approximate duration are basic things that should be prepared in advance before undergoing the examination.
Identification Document
You must have one of the following identification documents: a passport, driver’s license, or the “Diia” application. Photos of documents are not accepted.
Voluntary Consent
The procedure is voluntary. Without a signed consent form, the examination cannot be conducted. In case of refusal to undergo testing, the employer may make a decision regarding employment at their own discretion.
Video Recording
Video recording is carried out during the interview to ensure the safety and quality of the procedure. The materials are not shared with third parties and are stored for a limited period of time. Testing cannot be conducted without consent to the recording.
Duration
The total duration of the procedure is approximately 2 hours; in some cases — up to 3 hours, depending on the complexity and the need for additional clarification.

On the back of the Voluntary Consent Statement. Complaints regarding the work of the polygraph examiner should also be submitted there so that we can improve our service.
